LANDBANK to Finance Mini Hydro Power of Cantilan LGU

The towns of Carrascal,Cantilan and Madrid in Surigao del Sur will soon benefit from the construction of a One Megawatt Sipangpang Mini Hydroelectric Power project of Cantilan LGU to be financed by LANDBANK thru the World Bank-funded Support for Strategic Local Development and Investment Project or S2LDIP.
The power generation project will complement the existing electricity requirement of about 12,500 households in the area at reduced rates. The project is also expected to generate additional income for Cantilan which the LGU can use to provide other basic services to its constituents and the protection and preservation of the watershed covering the Sipangpang Water Falls.

the local officials of cantilan especially the mayor should put more time on how to solve the garbage and mining issues. employees of the munipality of cantilan are so corrupt esp. to the dep’t. heads. they gamble amora nan mga milyonaryo dapat i-check ini ila lifestyle jaon si ontong duero sobra kabaga na wayong dapat na preso na iton. iton iban sab jari sa mining mag-pabaga rakan nan wayong basta mokita lam sa mina.iton iban na sa cantilan pro-mining rakan sila kay jaoy ila interest na makinabang sab an ila pamilya.shame on them…

i just like to make a comment to express wat i feel regarding the issue of mining in cantilan..
->>mining is an outright destruction of our natural environment and is a manifestation of our DEGRADING SENSE OF RESPONSILBILITY. Causing this is the peolple’s drunkenness to their material pleasures and greed; they are losing the knowledge between wat is wrong from right..
->>What is sought after this environmental mess is a fresh hand to protect it;to nurture it for the benefit of our own time and of the future generation.
