Multisectoral rally set vs 2 mining firms

BUTUAN CITY—A huge march-rally participated in by farmers, youths, environmentalists, local government officials and religious groups coming from three southernside towns here will kick off today in Cantilan, this province, to dramatize their opposition to the entry of two mining firms in their respective localities.

Organizers said more than 1,000 placard-bearing people will march 4 km down the national highway from the office of the National Irrigation Administration  in barangay Calagdaan to the Cantilan town plaza, calling for the cancellation of the mineral product sharing agreements (MPSA) granted to Marcventures Mining and Development Corp. (MMDC) and Carac-an Development Corp. (CDC). MORE>>>
